NEVER ENOUGH TIME IN THE WORLD

Research schedule is on top of my “to do list”.  I am already about ¾ done with the pieces of research pieces.  I still need that ¼ to do which will not take me a long time to do today.  Since today I had an unexpected appointment I have the day off.  Therefore, I now have time to actually work on all my homework.  Now I will at least I will feel ten times lighter when I have caught up and finished.  I guess this is great, day off= day filled with homework.

“THE GUILT IS ALREADY DONE”

Law Abiding Citizen is a movie worth watching twice.  This was my first time watching it and I had no clue what scenes I wanted to focus on.  There were a bunch of scenes that I showed the masculine theory in action.  There is a scene where Clyde and the lawyer had a meeting.  The emotions that are thrown around with the words that follow showed that greed, pride, confusing, and most importantly strength.  Clyde’s determination to have the lawyer following his every mood really showed control.  Clyde is going through as many obstacles he has to.  I also have seen the amount of assumptions that men are a certain way. .. The suit and tie, dedication to work.  This movie is deeper than what I anticipated on..

SMARTER THAN YOU LOOK

Pride. Power. Pain. Greed. Confusion. DEDICATION…  My critical model is Masculinity approach.  At first I thought this would be more about the common stereotypes, which it is in a way, but it is so different.  Ladies always assume men are confusing.  Since I’ve been researching this model it has proved that everyone is very predictable in a way.  The deep desires that men have:  Greed, Power, Revenge, are very common.  My approach is focused on the motives behind the actions of men.  The biggest thing that really stood out was the manhood theory.  It is beyond true when it comes to go hard or go home.  Men like to get a job done… they won’t back down.

Wake up! Wake up! It's the first of the month.

English 102 came into my life way too quickly.  It seems like just yesterday summer was starting.  I'm not going to lie, I did miss having school.  But I miss having a good amount of sleep and not having to prioritize my time..  Well anyways, I didn't want my first entry to be me jumping in and talking about my research paper. Critically thinking about the characters motivations and desires actually is pretty intriguing.  I am doing my research paper on the movie Law Abiding Citizen.  This was my first time watching it and I must say it was nothing of what I expected it to be.
This Is My Official Blog #1
My initial thought of the film was silence.  I honestly had no idea what this film was about.  As I was watching the movie slowly it just sickened me more.  I don't know what was worse, corruption within human race or corruption in the court system.  It was one of those movies where you just want the bad guy to die, but you have so much sympathy for him at the exact same time that killing him would be heart breaking.  The hatred the main character had was inevitable.  The way he reacted, or should I say fought back, created this big violent war.  His wife and daughter were murdered.  His wife was also raped why she was slowly dying by the murder.  How could one not carry on so much anger and hatred toward the wrong doer.  He didn't want punishment; he wanted justice.  He failed to get peace within himself and peace knowing justice had been served.  Now at that time everything seemed to twist into a spiral downhill.  I am night quite sure who owned the spiral, but in the end ever single person slid down on it.  The way he approached his anger, decided to handle it, was pretty typical.  He took matters into his own hands. I think he approached it differently due to the fact that he was a male; which caused his behavior codes/morals to stray from right and wrong.  I still need to do more research into masculinity criticism  So far what I have come across truly interested me to peel more layers of scenes.  I am still thinking about what scenes I should focus on for my paper.  As for now, I will continue to look deep within and create more criticism toward the male actors actions.  HAPPY FIRST OF THE MONTH :)
